Jose Raymond-’92

Wakefield, MA—Since graduating Wakefield High School in 1992, Jose Raymond has made quite the name for himself on the bodybuilding scene. He recently competed in the 2010 Mr. Olympia, which is the world’s most prestigious bodybuilding competition.

Jose Raymond-'92

Jose and his brother Tito, also in the bodybuilding profession, were adopted by the Raymond family in Wakefield.  Jose grew up playing a variety of different sports, but he most excelled at football.  During his senior season in 1991, Raymond was crowned the Middlesex League Scoring Champion.  He tallied 99 points on 12 touchdowns, 23 PATs and two 2pt. conversions.  He carried the ball 137 times and gained 922 yards.

After graduating from Wakefield, Jose’s older brother Tito encouraged him to give bodybuilding a try.  Since then, Jose hasn’t looked back!  Since 2001, Raymond has qualified for International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) Pro Status 4 times.  He has won the National’s and USA’s three times each.  He is also distinguished as the first welterweight to win overall at Team Universe.  Jose also holds the claim of being the only individual to win USA’s and National’s at three different weight classes (light, welter and middle).

Since 1999, Jose has won numerous events.  Like his hard running ways on the grid iron in the fall of 1991, he enters each competition with the goal of winning.  Look for big things from one of Wakefield’s finest in the coming years.  Raymond has set the goal of winning Mr. Olympia and there is no doubt he is one step closer to that goal.
