Colorado Springs, CO–In a ceremony at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Friday, December 3, Wakefield native, Brian R. Bisacre, was promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Army.
Major General Dallas Thompson, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) Chief of Staff hosted the ceremony.
Colonel Bisacre’s wife Cyndi and son Craig pinned on his new rank and Colonel Mike Bisacre (retired), who attended the ceremony, reaffirmed the oath of office to his brother, Colonel Brian Bisacre.
Colonel Bisacre is a 1985 graduate of Wakefield High School where he was Captain of the 1984 Football Team. During his season year, he was coached by Bob Connors in his first season at the helm of the Warriors. The team snapped a 12 game losing streak under the direction of Connors and Bisacre. The newly appointed Colonel is also a 1989 graduate of Norwich University. He is a career Military Police Officer and has held various command and staff assignments throughout his 22-year career in the United States Army.
Colonel Bisacre is a combat veteran and in the summer of 2009 returned from Iraq after commanding Task Force Warfighter and the 728th Military Police Battalion in during Operation Iraqi Freedom for 16 months.
Colonel Bisacre is currently assigned to NORAD and USNORTHCOM and is the command’s Security Director.
Colonel Bisacre has been selected to attend the Senior Service College in the summer of 2011 and is projected to take command of a Military Police Brigade in summer of 2012 at a location to be determined by the Army at a later date.
Colonel Brian R. Bisacre is the son of Robert and Ethel Bisacre, lifelong residents of Wakefield. Robert, or commonly known as Bob, is a former Warrior Football player and coach.
