Wakefield, MA— The Wakefield High School football team helped the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry with the 21st annual National Letter Carriers Food Drive on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Players helped to set-up the Americal Civic Center to receive donations delivered by letter carriers, sorted donated items, transported items to the Food Pantry, and helped with the break-down of the event. By all accounts, this year’s food drive was a great success!

Wakefield, MA–The Wakefield High School football team will once again participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. The 2013 event will be held on June 15th and 16th at the Northeast Metro Vocational Regional Vocational High School, 100 Hemlock Rd, Wakefield.

Relay-for-Life is an overnight relay-style fund raising event in which teams of people camp out around a track, and members of each team take turns walking around the track for the duration of the event.  The ultimate goal of Relay is to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays  The Warrior Club’s team is named for former WHS football coach, Ron Wood, who was a victim of colon cancer at the age of 35.
