Middlesex League Week Eight Wrapup

Wakefield, MA–The Middlesex League saw 10 of it’s 10 teams in action this weekend. There were no non league games.

Wakefield – 37

Burlington – 29

Vinny DeSciscio rushed for 239 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries in the Warriors’ win.

Woburn – 13

Reading – 37

The host Rockets won their 22d straight game, led by two touchdown passes by Brian Bourque.

Lexington – 6

Belmont – 7

A blocked extra point in the third quarter proved to be the difference as the Marauders defeated the Minutemen. Joe Montiero, who scored Belont’s TD on a 12-yard run in the second quarter, and J.C. Reynolds combined for 200 yards rushing for Belmont.

Melrose – 28

Watertown – 35

CJ Logan passed for five touchdowns — three to Brendan Wojtowicz — in the win.

Winchester – 43

Stoneham – 7

The Sachems’ Josh Rodriguez rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. As a team, Winchester racked up 302 yards on the ground and 108 in the air.
