Middlesex League Week Five Wrap Up

Wakefield, MA–The Middlesex League saw 10 of it’s 10 teams in action this weekend.  Reading and Watertown both played a non league contest.

Woburn – 23

Wakefield – 8

Running back Chucky Ortiz led the way for the Tanners, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Ortiz also returned a blocked extra point for 70 yards.

Reading – 23

Lincoln-Sudbury – 0

Brian Bourque was one of three players to score a rushing touchdown for the No. 7 Rockets.

Belmont – 7

Winchester – 6

A P.A.T kick by Matt Carroll was the difference, giving the Marauders the victory.

Melrose – 14

Burlington – 20

Kyle Shields shouldered the load for the Red Devils, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

Stoneham – 13

Lexington – 34

Junior tailback Nick Murray netted 221 all-purpose yards, including a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown, and two punt returns for scores.

Archbishop Williams – 12

Watertown – 14

Mike Baccari’s two successful extra points proved to be the difference for Watertown.
