Middlesex League Week Nine Wrapup

Wakefield, MA–The Middlesex League saw 10 of it’s 10 teams in action this weekend. There were no non league games.

Watertown – 16

Wakefield – 48

Josh Puccio and Vinny DeSciscio led the gorund attack for the Warriors, combining for three touchdowns in the rout of the Red Raiders. Puccio ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries and DeSciscio added 140 yards and a score on 17 carries.

Lexington – 7

Reading – 32

Brian Bourque threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 7 Rockets (10-0) won their 23d straight game and clinched the Middlesex League title and a Division 2 playff berth.

Burlington – 7

Winchester – 28

Greg Thompson was 10 for 17 for 160 yards through the air and added 132 more on the ground in the Sachems’ win.

Stoneham – 0

Melrose – 26

Spencer Walsh rushed for two scores in Melrose’s victory.

Belmont – 27

Woburn – 42

Junior Chucky Ortiz had two TD receptions, a rushing TD, and an 85-yard kickoff return for a score to lead the Tanners.
