Middlesex League Week One Wrap Up

Wakefield, MA— The Middlesex League had 9 of their 10 teams open the 2010 season this weekend. ┬áThe only team to not have a game was Wakefield. ┬áThe league went 2-7 with some tough non-league opponents on the schedule.


Stoneham- 0
Northeast- 36

Donato Depietrantonio had two rushing touchdowns as the lower division Black Knights handed Stoneham their 28 consecutive loss.

Stoughton- 14
Winchester- 8

Alex Fernandes and Travis Demko had touchdowns for the visiting Black Knights.

Watertown- 46
Greater Lowell- 8

C.J. Logan had one rushing touchdown and threw for another for the Raiders.

Woburn- 0
Acton-Boxboro- 23

Rog Goguen had two touchdowns to lead the Colonials over the Tanners in their annual matchup.

Cambridge- 12
Reading- 50

Larry Gilligan had two touchdowns and Brian Bourque added one rushing and one passing to lead the Rockets over the Falcons in Reading.

Lexington- 13

Westford’s Pat Dugan had three touchdown passes to lead the Grey Ghosts over the Minutemen.

Wilmington- 34
Melrose- 0

John Parson’s ran for 130 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Wildcats over future Middlesex League rival Melrose.

Billerica- 35
Burlington- 27

Reinging Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year, Nick LaSpada, had three touchdown passes and added another two rushing.

Cardinal Spellman- 25
Belmont- 0

Blaise Branch rushed for 122 yards and three scores to lead Spellman over the home team.
