Steve Cummings

Head Coach

Steve attended Marshfield High School where he played four years of football at the TE and OLB positions. He was a member of the 1995 Division 3B Super Bowl Championship team and received the John C. Venable Memorial Football Scholarship his senior year. He graduated from MHS in 1996 and went on to attend Framingham State College where he played four years of football at the TE and LT positions. Steve was named Captain his senior season in 2000. In 2001, he became a Graduate Assistant Coach to the Framingham State Rams, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, minoring in Communications. Steve’s football coaching experience includes one season at Canton High School in 2003, where he coached receivers and linebackers as well as being the Head JV Coach, taking that team through an undefeated season. In 2006, Steve became an assistant coach at Sharon High School, working with the receivers and linebackers.

Steve joined the Wakefield staff as the Freshman Head Coach in 2008 and led the 2010 team to a perfect 9-0 season. He served as Defensive Coordinator from 2011-2014, helping the 2011 team win the Middlesex League Championship and earn a spot in the Division 2A State Championship game. He is also a math teacher at WHS. He and his 9 year old daughter, Savannah, reside in Wakefield, MA.

Ruben Reinoso

Offensive Coordinator, Quarter Backs

Ruben was a three year football player at the RB/DB positions and a four year indoor and outdoor sprinter at Peabody High School, graduating in 1996. He was part of the 1993 Super Bowl Championship team and undefeated regular season 1994 Super Bowl Finalist team. In addition, Ruben was a member of some of the undefeated track teams at Peabody High School. He went on and played football at Framingham State College where he played WR/DB. He then transferred to the University of Massachusetts at Lowell were he ran track for two years and played football one year at the RB position. He graduated with a B.A. in Modern Language-Spanish and a minor in Psychology in 2001. Ruben has thirteen years of coaching experience, which began in 2001 at Wakefield High School at the freshman level. Ruben was a staff member on the 2001 Super Bowl Finalist team at WHS. In 2004, Ruben became the Head Freshman Coach and in 2005 began coaching at the Varsity and JV levels.

In addition to coaching football, Ruben is also the Head Indoor/Outdoor Boys’ track and field coach, foreign language coordinator, and teaches Spanish at WHS. Coach Reinoso is married to Alexandra.

Justin Berry- WHS 2002

Offensive Line

Justin graduated from WHS in 2002, playing four years of football. During his high school career, Justin was a Middlesex League All-Star, a member of two Middlesex League Championship teams, a member of the 1999 Super Bowl Championship team, and a member of the 2001 Super Bowl Finalist team. Justin began his coaching career in 2004, spending his first 7 years on the freshman staff, culminating in the perfect 9-0 season in 2010. From 2011-2013 he served as the varsity defensive line coach. He is also a varsity assistant on the Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field coaching staffs working with the throwing events. He is also currently a Sports Performance Coach at Desimone Fitness located in North Reading, Ma. Justin graduated from Salem State University Magna Cum Laude in the major of Sport & Movement Science with a concentration in Fitness & Wellness and a minor in Biology, while competing for the Track & Field team. He currently resides in Wakefield.

Doug Gallant

Defensive Line

Originally from Billerica, Doug attended Billerica Memorial High School where he played football and lacrosse, while playing football for BMHS Gallant was a 4-year

varsity player and 2-year starter, 2 time Merrimack Valley Conference All- Conference team, in 2005 won the MVC league title and was named Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic team. Playing lacrosse Gallant was a 4 year varsity player, named team captain, team MVP in 2006 and was MVC All-Conference, Lowell Sun All Star, Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Boston Herald All- Scholastic, and also named second team All-American as a goalie for Billerica. Coach Gallant went to Worcester state university where he graduated in 2011 with a degree in History and political science and also was a 4-year starter for the Lancers offensive line. At Worcester State Gallant was named offensive rookie of the year and named twice to the all Worcester team. Before joining the Wakefield staff Coach Gallant was the offensive and defensive line coach for Billerica for 3 years, and last year coached at Danvers High school coaching the Offensive and Defensive line where they won the NEC small title. In addition to coaching the football team Gallant is also the defensive coordinator for the Varsity Lacrosse team. Doug works at Valley Collaborative in Billerica, MA and resides in Wakefield.

Rich Moran

Receivers

Originally from Dorchester, Rich is married with two children and resides in Wakefield. He graduated from Newman Prep in 1981. Rich coached football at Don Bosco from 1987-1993 and at Rivers Academy in 1994 and 1995. A Wakefield resident for the past 19 years, Coach Moran is working with the Warriors for the first time.

Anthony LaFratta

Running Backs

Anthony is originally from Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School in 2010. While at Peabody High, Anthony played four years of football at the CB/WR position. He also ran track and field for 3 years, where one of his track and field coaches was offensive coordinator Ruben Reinoso. After high school, Anthony attended UMass Amherst for his freshmen year of college before transferring to Salem State, majoring in history and minoring in education. Anthony joined the track and field staff here at WHS in 2012. In 2013, Anthony began his football coaching career at Lynn English High School. For two years he worked with a variety of positions and called both the offense and defense for the JV team. In 2014, Anthony completed his student teaching practicum at WHS and then became a substitute teacher. In May of that year, he graduated from Salem State University.
This is Anthony’s first season on the Wakefield Football staff. He has continued coaching the track and field team, specifically the sprints and relays. Anthony presently works as a history teacher at Lynn English High School.

Chris Tolios

Defensive Coordinator

Chris graduated from Ipswich High School in 2008, playing both football and baseball. He was a member of the 2006 Division 3B Superbowl Championship team. He was a captain in 2007, as well as a Cape Ann all-star selection. Chris attended Endicott College, where he received a Bachelors in Sport Management & Education as well as a Masters in Athletic Administration. Coach Tolios has been the defensive coordinator at Ipswich High and Danvers High, helping the latter to an NEC league title in 2012. This is Chris’ first year with the Warriors and he also is a health teacher at the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield.

Joe Elcewicz – WHS 1992

Special Assistant to the Head Coach

Joe is a 1992 graduate of Wakefield High School and a varsity letter winner in basketball. Joe has had a lengthy tenure as an assistant coach for many teams at WHS. This year marks Joe’s 20th year helping out the varsity football program. For the past 19 years, Joe has been an assistant for the boys’ varsity basketball team. Joe also helps the WHS softball team. Joe has earned two state championship rings at Wakefield High School, the first in 1997 with the boys’ basketball team and the second in 1999 with the football team. Joe works at the Galvin Middle School.

Rick Quattrocchi – WHS 1973

Head Coach, Freshman Team

Rick played four years of football for Wakefield High School at the TE/DE positions. He was Captain his senior season and was a member of the 1970 Undefeated Championship football team. Rick graduated in 1973 and went on to play two years of football at Northeastern University, graduating in 1978. He has 18 years of coaching experience, which began in 1994 at Saugus High School where he coached the LB, Ends, and Special Teams. In 2000, Rick joined the Wakefield High School football staff. He has assisted in coaching the 2001 team to a Middlesex League Championship and the State Super Bowl Finals. In 1994, Rick and his teammates from the 1970 WHS football team were inducted into the Wakefield High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Rick and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Michael and Maria. In 2010 he began his first season as Head Coach for Girls Softball at Wakefield High. This is his fourth season as Head Coach for the Freshman Football Team. Rick is a life-long Wakefield resident and is the owner of Michael-Maria’s Landscaping Co.

Tom Crusco, III – WHS 2007

Freshman Team Offensive Coordinator

This is Tom’s third season as offensive coordinator for the freshman team. Tom is a 2007 graduate of Wakefield High and was a three-sport varsity athlete in football, indoor track, and baseball. He is a 2012 graduate of Plymouth State University and holds a BS in Physical Education: Tom currently works as a special education paraprofessional at the Dolbeare Elementary School in Wakefield. Tom’s father is a longtime varsity football assistant coach at WHS and his brother’s, Mike and Nick, also played football for WHS.

Brian Millea – WHS 2008

Brian Millea is a 2008 graduate of Wakefield High and was a captain of three sports: football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Endicott College in 2012 with a BA in business and he played varsity baseball there. This is Brian’s fourth year coaching freshman football for the Warriors.
