On a wet, cold and windy Friday night in Danvers, the Wakefield Warriors’ offense struggled for the second straight week, and the Warriors were eliminated from the state playoffs with a 28-0 loss to Danvers.  The loss drops the Warriors to .500 on the season at 4-4.  The Warriors hope to get back on the winning track this Friday night at 7 PM in Bedford.

Danvers took the opening kickoff and drove down the field converting on a 4th and 6 at one point to keep their drive alive.  The took an early 7-0 lead on a 12 yard run for a TD.  After the teams exchanged punts, the Warriors turned the ball over deep in their own territory and Danvers converted the short field into a 14-0 lead.  The Warriors were forced to punt once again on their next possession, but this time Danvers blocked the punt and returned it for a 21-0 advantage.  Danvers would add a TD on the closing seconds of the first half and end the half at 28-0.  Neither time really threatened in the second half, and the score would end at 28-0.
