Warriors Open Up Against Lexington

Wakefield, MACoach Mike Boyages-’76 and the Wakefield High School football team have been busy the past few weeks. The Warriors scrimmaged Beverly and Billerica in preparation for their season opener against Lexington on Saturday, September 10 at 1:30 PM. ┬áThe game has an interesting twist as Lexington head coach, George Peterson is a former Wakefield assistant and one of his assistants, Eric Fulgham-’99 is a former Warrior captain.

The Warriors open their home schedule at the Lynn English Bulldogs in a non league tilt on Friday, September 16 at 7:00PM at Landrigan Field.

It should be noted that the Warriors will play a Saturday Night home game versus Belmont at 7PM on October 1, 2011. They then quickly have to turn around and play one of the newest members of the Middlesex League, the Arlington Spy Ponders on Thursday, October 6 at 6:00PM at Arlington High School.  The Warriors also play another newcomer to the Middlesex League in the Wilmington Wildcats on October 14 at 7:00PM at Wilmington High School.
